REAL LIFE, REAL MOMENTS, ARTISTICALLY DOCUMENTED ...

I’VE ALWAYS HAD A FLARE FOR THE CREATIVE, I JUST NEVER KNEW HOW TO EXPRESS MYSELF. I KNEW I LOVED EMOTIONS, STORIES AND EXPRESSION. I LOVE THE WORLD, PEOPLE AND LIFE…AND THEN I PICKED UP A CAMERA. PHOTOGRAPHY BECAME MY WORLD, MY PASSION, LIVING LIFE THROUGH A LENS. ARTISTICALLY DOCUMENTING REAL LIFE AND REAL MOMENTS. I WAS AMAZED. AMAZED BY THE POWER THAT ONE IMAGE HAD TO TELL A STORY. IT WAS INCREDIBLE...

  • Susan + Riyadh // Toronto Wedding

Let me start by telling you a little bit about Susan + Riyadh, at least from how Kelly and I know them.

Riyadh is a simple, quiet guy who does not like to be the centre of attention. He’s emotional, but doesn’t really cry, he has said in the past that he’s uncomfortable with photos (that quickly changed) and he does NOT like to dance! In fact, I don’t think Susan has ever seen him dance in the 9 years they have been together. Now, Susan, she’s a sweet heart, very caring. She works with kids with autism, behavioural therapy is what she went to school for! She is emotional and she does cry lol! Any chance Susan gets, she is on the dance floor shaking it!!!!

Two days before the wedding, Susan asked us to photograph their Mehndi ceremony. We got to witness the Henna designs being drawn on to the ladies. Kelly even opted to get one :) That evening, we were introduced to their families and friends and we saw all of their wild dances and performances their friends and family put on while Susan + Riyadh sat and watched. Of course though, Susan had to jump in and perform along with the ladies a few times. It was definitely a great introduction of what was in store for their wedding day.

The wedding day was full of emotion right from the beginning. There were a few beautiful moments that brought tears to Susan’s eyes from her house in the morning and throughout the rest of the night. We also caught Riyadh crying once or twice. We got to hang out with their bridal party which was so much fun, everyone just wanted to party, laugh and have fun all day which is exactly what we like to see. They had a catholic ceremony as well as a muslim ceremony and of course, more dances and performances!!! But there is always one unique moment that stands out to us on every wedding day. During the dancing perfomances, Riyadh surprised Susan by joining in with the guys. At first the guys ran up to Riyadh and began pulling him to the dance floor but Riyadh pretended to refuse, but when they got him on the dance floor he started dancing and knew all of the choreography. Susan was so taken back by this and was so happy to see Riyadh busting some moves on the dance floor that it brought tears of pure happiness to her eyes. It’s the simple things that can bring so much happiness to people and we love to document that.

The entire day was amazing and full of plenty of emotions. Everyone, including us had such a great time. Susan + Riyadh, we are so happy for you. Witnessing your special day was a blessing and we are grateful to have been a part of it. Kelly and I want to thank you and your families for your kindness and generosity and for showing us how you guys party! We had a blast. We hope you enjoy this blog post we put together for you of some of the great moments we experienced that day. We can’t wait to show you the rest :)

    JUST LOVE

You guys did an amazing job! These pictures are perfect and thank you for making it so easy on our friends. My little one was the littlest flower girl, you guys made her look like a star. But most of all you made Susie and Riyadh look like the king and queen that they are. Great job!
