Mommy + Dommy…
This one means a lot…Let me start off by saying. I have never cried so much in my life. Witnessing my mom get married was one of the most incredible events I could have ever seen. And to make it even more incredible, the man that she married has become one of my best friends, one person I can always count on for advice and just a talk.
This wedding was one of the most beautiful weddings I have ever witnessed, not just because it was my mother. It was full of so many emotions. Laughter, tears, more tears and happiness. I felt like we all had so much stowed inside that just needed to be let out and this was the perfect opportunity.
Now, as you can imagine, it killed me to know I couldn’t shoot the wedding but I asked good friends of mine Tania + Oscar (you may recognize them from the Portugal wedding I shot last year) to shoot for my mom and step daddy. She did an awesome job. Check out her work at Karizma Creations. But even with all the best man duties I still managed to snag a couple of shots plus I did all of the editing on the photos. I had to put my touch on it. I couldn’t pass up on the opportunity to photograph my mother and little sister…When duty called I handed the camera over to my uncle joe who actually did a phenomenal job at capturing some beautiful moments. So what you see here is a combination of my photos, Tania’s and Uncle Joes…A GREAT TEAM! It was a beautiful day and I was beyond happy.
Finally, a little message to the newly weds…
Words cannot express how much you both mean to me. Dom…thank you for making my mom happy. You have given her a beautiful daughter and a family, something we have always dreamed of having. I couldn’t ask for someone better for my mom. And thank you for everything you have ever done for me and continue to do for me. I am so happy to call you my papi and my friend.
Mom…I love you soooooooo much. I can’t believe how much you and I have been through. But no matter the situation was, you have dropped everything for me to be by my side. I don’t know how I could ever pay you back for that. Having you as a mother is the greatest gift I have ever received in my life. You are the most caring woman in the world and I won’t be the only one to say that. I’m just so happy to have you and to have our family. The future is bright and I can’t wait for what’s in store for all of us.
I love you, Dom and Sofia.
Enjoy your story,
Love always,
Julian
